Frequently asked questions

What can I grow in them?

Almost anything you would start in a nursery pot — herbs, vegetables, flowers and small trees. Choose a size that gives the plant enough room before planting out.

Is it a health product?

No. It is a biodegradable garden pot for starting plants. It is not a medicine and not intended to address any condition — it is a pot for the garden.

How long do they hold together?

They hold their shape for the seedling's early life, usually several weeks. In the ground, the fibre then breaks down over time, releasing the roots to grow freely.

Are they biodegradable?

Yes. The pots break down in the ground over time, adding organic matter to the soil. They are a plastic-free, biodegradable alternative to plastic nursery pots.

Can I plant the whole pot?

Yes — that is the point. When the seedling is ready, plant the entire pot in the ground. The fibre holds together long enough to protect the roots, then breaks down in the soil.

What are coir pots made from?

They are pressed from the fibrous husk of the coconut, dried and bound with natural pressure into a firm pot. The coir comes from Trinidad & Tobago's coconuts.
